DMG MEDIA WORKS is a content creation company specializing in video editing and post production. DMG takes your raw footage and creates a professional quality video for your business or personal use.
DMG offers services for text/logo graphic animations, basic cuts and transitions, and color correction for event videos, corporate media, social media content, vacation and family videos, short films and documentaries.
As a MEDIA-MAKER I use video, audio, photography, drawing, graphic design media as means of expression and storytelling. As an EDUCATOR I emphasize critical thinking and teach with intention. As an ENTREPRENEUR I collaborate with individuals who think creatively and work strategically to impact their worlds. DMG MEDIA WORKS combines these attributes to provide quality content for individuals and businesses.
I am in process of pursuing a PhD in Film and Media Studies at KU. My experiences here have been in developing as an educator, filmmaker, and lifetime learner. My area of research critically investigates representations of African Americans in contemporary mainstream film.

I assisted the facilitation of advertising classes and organized research materials for an oral history project. My master's thesis titled, "Cutting Against Controlling Imagery," was aimed at explicating the ways in which Black female directors (Ava DuVernay and Gina Prince-Bythewood) have created images of Black women that go against the tradition of monolithic, one-dimensional Black womanhood.

Co-Director: Twice As Hard
In My Hands was a collaborative work by five artists seeking to share their voices, their experiences, and their Christian faith. Twice As Hard is a video installation that focuses on two black women's experiences within this overarching theme.

Big Muddy Film Festival
The Big Muddy Film Festival is one of the oldest, student-run film festivals in Illinois. The festival is planned and executed by the Big Muddy Crew. We developed the programming and facilitated the logistical flow of the festival.

My professional journey officially began in August 2010 at Adrian College. I developed ideas for TV shows, produced radio programs, and made lasting connections. In my last two years, I became a McNair scholar and launched my journey through scholarship.
